The streaming media player bubble is not over. A new contender called Veebeam hopes to make customers reconsider how they want to get their daily update of web video. Veebeam wirelessly hook up your PC to your TV so you can see the Daily Show, Hulu, Netflix movies and The Big Bang Theory on a giant screen, as a 22-inch monitor. The Veebeam media player streams in high-definition resolution 780p or 1080p speeds, which can be up to four times faster than Wi-Fi as well as Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150.

Veebeam is competitive against Apple TV and the Roku box price. An SD version costs $ 100 Veebeam an HD version comes for $ 140. But for this price, Veebeam can do more than many of his colleagues, said Patrick Cosson, vice-president of marketing at Veebeam. Veebeam showed its products at the DEMO fall 2010 conference on Tuesday.
“Apple TV is a walled garden,” he says. “Most people put entertainment media consumption is wider, making them a platform to them,” says Cosson need.
It is not a new playing field. Companies like Google, Boxee, and Netgear have tried to tap into the growing pool of users who are now turning their video for entertainment on the net. In May, Google launched Google TV, a new set-top box platform on the Google Android operating system, have access to Flickr is based, gaming sites like Club Penguin, music sites like Pandora and traditional cable programming .
Other companies like Roku and Boxee were slightly less ambitious, promising only an easy way to Web content to stream from PC to the TV. Boxee, though, is only as a software program, but the company has said it is partnering with D-Link in a box Boxee performance this year.
And since Apple TV. Although long regarded as “hobby” Apple CEO Steve Jobs characterized, Apple launched a new version of the device at the beginning of this month. Apple TV now integrates Flickr photos, allowing the rental of television shows from ABC and Fox and lets users stream media from your iTunes library.
“Apple TV is a 720p solution,” says Cosson, “while we can stream at 1080p, so you take advantage of that HD-TV.”
Veebeam uses wireless USB to stream content from the PC to the TV. Wireless USB is more for point-to-point connections than traditional Wi-Fi, because it offers more bandwidth and less interference, the company said. Veebeam estimated 420 Mbps Wireless USB.
Customers have the Veebeam box to their TV connector and plug the USB antenna that comes with the device to their laptop. Users can choose between the “screencasting” mode for the sharing of photos and web pages or the “game-to” mode for video switch.
Although services such as problems with Boxee Hulu, Hulu Boxee had blocked at least three times over two years-Veebeam is confident to fly under the radar.
“It is impossible for us Hulu block,” says Cosson. “We take a series of small images from your computer and project it to your TV so Hulu does not know that the content is on the TV. They think their on the browser.”
So in a nutshell explains Veebeam. It is a wireless USB hub in a pretty package. It is not directly connected to the Internet stream it straight, what on your laptop. Still, at a price it could be getting a cheap and painless way of video from your laptop to your TV screen.
