If the uber Intel Sandy Bridge processors, they will see action at CyberPower’s Gamer Xtreme 1302 or Gamer Xtreme 1304 – is quite capable of handling any task with extra processing muscle to spare when it comes to HD video, 3D games, multitasking, multimedia, or share photos. HP’s TouchSmart 600 was one of our favorite new PCs this fall because of the abundance of useful features. We’re more ambivalent about lower-end HP’s TouchSmart 300-1020. This touch-screen all-in-one PC offers decent performance, but it has a smaller screen and lacks the impressive features of the higher-end TouchSmart. With good recipe organization software may appeal to those looking for a kitchen PC, but you can do better than the TouchSmart 300-1020 20-inch screen, the price for home entertainment, and you’re much better off with a traditional desktop general purpose productivity.

HP TouchSmart 300-1020 Review

The TouchSmart 300-1020 is a fixed configuration model available at retail. HP offers a few other pre-configured TouchSmart 300s, and a fully customizable version of its website. Between the different models are variations in the CPU, memory, hard disk capacity, and other features, but all share a 20-inch touch screen, wireless networking, built, adjustable webcam and HP’s own suite of touch software.

Though the TouchSmart 300-1020 is attractive enough to display anywhere, it is probably best suited in the kitchen as a recipe organizer and multimedia companion. You can find our review of the HP TouchSmart 600 for our full impressions of HP’s touch-based input Recipe Box software to grab recipes from the web and organize them for later use. Here we simply say that the Recipe Box software perhaps the best feature of the TouchSmart 300-1020, and technology-minded chief will probably come to rely on.

We also like the TouchSmart PC 300-1020 as a kitchen for watching videos or playing music because of its relatively small size. At 21.5 inches wide by 8 inches deep (with the default fully extended) by 16 centimeters high, it will fit on countertops more than the larger, more expensive TouchSmart 600. However, it really only is this recommendation due to the Recipe Box software. If you do not want a PC to help you cook, but simply in the market for a Windows-based media player kitchen, Gateway One ZX4800-02 has the same combination of 20-inch screen, a DVD drive and touch screen for $ 150 less.

In every other room, where space may be less a problem, we can not recommend the TouchSmart as a media PC 300-1020. The reason for this is the Acer Aspire Z5610. It might not be as attractive as the HP, and touch-specific software is not as polished, but for entertainment purposes, we will take a bigger screen every time – especially if there is no price difference.

HP TouchSmart 300-1020 Review

That brings us to productivity. The TouchSmart 300-1020 is a reasonable performer in the all-in-one PCs, especially for day-to-day multitasking-oriented use. Although it falls behind the Acer on our iTunes and Photoshop application testing, our multitasking and Cinebench multi stress tests suggest that the HP is only half the iMac in managing multiple simultaneous tasks (or a multithreaded application).

The wrinkle, as always with all-in-ones, the standard desktop tower. Asus Essentio CG5275-AR003 is just one example but it clearly shows that you can spend considerably less than the HP for a much faster desktop tower, with enough money to match the desktop with a monitor, so no all – in-one advantage in the integrated display.

In addition to finding it suited to a relatively narrow use of scenarios, we are disappointed that HP stopped a few of the features that we so valued in TouchSmart 600. We miss the HDMI video input most of all. That function can be a cable box, a game console, or an HDMI video source and pump it into the TouchSmart 600 (a feature HP borrowed from Sony’s all-in-ones), significantly expanding its usefulness as a home entertainment display. We have even seen an HDMI input on an Asus Nettop, so HP can not exactly claim cost as a reason for leaving out the TouchSmart 300-1020. There is no Blu-ray drive in TouchSmart 300. We have not seen Blu-ray in a sub-$ 1,000 all-in-one, but we do not expect this barrier will keep too much longer.

HP TouchSmart 300-1020 Review

This is not to say the TouchSmart 300-1020 does not have home-entertainment friendly nods. It retains the 600′s TouchSmart wall mount capability via a separate adapter and bracket. You also get hard volume and mute buttons on the side of the system. We would like to see HP add a special screen on / off button, though. And while we regret the loss of HDMI input, the digital and analog audio outputs on the back, along with the collection of the back and side-mounted USB 2.0 ports must relate to your more traditional connectivity needs.

The TouchSmart 300-1020 of the energy comes from right where we expect her accomplishment. It has no settings or use states where it uses an excessive amount of energy, and the total annual cost will be a burdensome amount not to add to your energy bill.

New Tt eSPORTS Black Element Gaming Mouse

The Black Element also switch OMRON gaming with up to 5 million keystrokes. It has a rubber coated finish and gold plated USB connector. There is 128KB of onboard memory for storing up to 45 macro keys in five game profiles.

The 23-inch Acer H233H bmid is the latest in what is likely a strong trend this year are: 16 medium-to-9 shows that sports HD-friendly 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and an HDMI port in addition to the standard DVI and VGA ports. Besides the slight difference in size, this monitor is quite similar to 22-inch VX2260WM ViewSonic’s. You will not find extras such as USB ports or height or swivel adjustments, but it is hard to overlook the hard specs and performance in a monitor that lists for just $ 209.99, especially considering the size of this screen.

Acer H233H bmid Monitor Review

There is not much to say about this screen is. The bezel is typically shiny black plastic, and the state only allows the screen to be tilted backward and forward only. The stand is also made of a slightly translucent black plastic with silver spots that are especially cheap close up. From a few feet away, however, we are happy that it’s just mostly black.

A power button sits on the bottom right and is easy to press. Six backlit, touch-sensitive buttons help you navigate through the on-screen display, they work pretty well, that’s not always the case with touch controls, but we preferred Acer had stuck to cheaper, old-school buttons and added more customization to the stand.

Although there is a bulge on the left side of the screen where USB ports would fit the space is filled with plastic, and the only ports are the speaker connector, VGA and DVI connectors on the back. Acer plans probably an expensive iteration of this screen release in the future that will be USB.

Performance-wise, the H233H bmid is solid if not stellar, in our tests, the monitor was about average. Like most monitors we’ve seen, the whites were a little oversaturated, though H233H bmid managed to get every nuance display in the low saturation color test, showing that a decent job with the high end of the gray scale does.

Acer H233H bmid Monitor Review

On the other hand, the Acer screen is indistinguishable from the darkest shade of black of gray, but that is also in line with most of the monitors we’ve tested recently. Text was surprisingly clear and legible down to a tiny 5.3 points, this screen would do a decent job as an office monitor, means, as long as you stand at a height adjustment. In our tests, some light bleeding from the bottom of the screen, but in everyday use, we really noticed in the dark scenes of games and movies.

The H233H bmid performed very well in our entertainment tests. We saw some very slight loss of detail in dark Doom 3, but we had to look carefully to notice. When we connected via HDMI to the Blu-ray player, the H233H bmid looked beautiful. We did not notice any motion blur during action sequences of the opera The Fifth Element, thanks to the quick (and now fairly standard) 5-millisecond pixel response time.

The brightness of 300cd/m2 felt just about right when viewing true high-definition content, the picture looked vibrant and clear, without unnecessarily bright. Do not expect the performance of a high-end LCD TV contest, but the screen is very good for its price and would make an excellent second or third HD devices for games or movies in an area where space is tight.

The monitor has a pair of 2-watt integrated speakers behind the ring and a set of dedicated volume buttons, but unless you’ll be using this screen in a very quiet neighborhood, you want more powerful speakers. In our laboratories, even at full volume, was washed by a dialogue (albeit loud) side fan on a PC sitting next to the display.

Acer H233H bmid Monitor Review

Although we often complain about the lack of height and angle in many of the budget of the current monitors, we can not really complain about back-and-forward are the only Acer. This 23-inch, 1080p, 16-to-9 display offers solid performance and simple good looks, and it did slightly better than the comparable ViewSonic VX2260WM on our tests while adding an extra inch to the screen, and costs about $ 40 less.

Despite the lack of USB ports and decent speakers, the Acer H233H bmid is an excellent value for those who want the full HD resolution for productivity purposes, gaming, movies, or all three.
